1-on-1 Coaching

  • Balancing academic demands with high-level athletic performance is challenging. Student-athletes are expected to perform under pressure in competition while managing coursework, schedules, and constant evaluation. One-on-one mental performance coaching helps student-athletes develop the skills needed to perform consistently—both in the classroom and in sport.

My work with student-athletes focuses on building practical mental performance skills that support clarity under pressure, confidence, and effective decision-making. Coaching sessions address common challenges such as performance anxiety, managing internal pressure and negative thought patterns, and navigating key transitions, including moving from high school to college, transferring programs, balancing academics and athletics, and preparing for life after sport.

I bring over 15 years of experience working in college athletics as a coach, administrator, and Certified Mental Performance Consultant®. As a former college basketball coach, I understand the demands placed on student-athletes and provide structured, evidence-based tools that support sustained performance where academic excellence and athletic success must coexist.

  • Coaches operate in high-pressure environments that demand constant decision-making, leadership, and emotional control. One-on-one mental performance coaching provides head coaches and coaching staff with a structured, confidential space to improve focus, manage pressure, and lead with greater clarity and consistency.

Through individualized coaching, I work with coaches to develop practical, evidence-based mental performance skills that directly support performance in practice, competition, recruiting, and leadership roles. Sessions focus on regulation under pressure, decision-making, attention control, and sustainable confidence—tools that can be applied immediately in high-stakes moments.

    1-on-1 coaching helps coaches:

    • Manage stress and pressure without burnout

    • Improve focus and decision-making in fast-paced environments

    • Build durable confidence rooted in preparation and clarity

    • Navigate leadership transitions, role changes, and performance scrutiny

This coaching is performance-driven, not therapeutic, and designed for coaches who want to think clearly, lead effectively, and perform consistently in demanding collegiate and professional settings.

  • Mental performance coaching helps leaders operate with clarity, consistency, and control in demanding environments. This work focuses on strengthening the mental skills required to think clearly, make sound decisions, and lead effectively when pressure is high and stakes are real.

Through one-on-one coaching, leaders develop practical, evidence-based tools to:

    • Maintain composure under pressure by regulating stress and cognitive load

    • Improve focus and attention control in fast-moving, distraction-heavy environments

    • Build durable confidence grounded in preparation, clarity, and execution

    • Strengthen decision-making when time, information, and certainty are limited

    • Sustain performance over time by preventing burnout and managing recovery intentionally

This coaching is designed for executives, managers, and high-performing professionals who want to perform consistently, lead with clarity, and maintain effectiveness over the long term—without relying on motivation or constant external support.

Consultation

I work with coaching staffs, head coaches, and organizational leaders to design, implement, and sustain effective mental performance programs within high-pressure environments. My consultation services focus on building clear, evidence-based systems that support decision-making, consistency, and performance under pressure—without creating reliance on ongoing one-on-one support.

My services include series-based workshops for coaching staffs and leadership teams that provide practical tools for developing a shared language around mental performance. These workshops equip leaders with strategies they can integrate into daily practice, competition, and leadership routines in ways that align with team culture and performance demands.

In addition, I provide team-specific consultation for coaches and student-athletes, addressing applied topics such as performance anxiety, focus, confidence, mindset, and responding effectively to adversity within a performance-driven framework.

  • Corporate

As a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC), I work with companies and organizations operating in high-pressure environments to improve employee mind health, performance, and long-term sustainability. My work focuses on helping individuals think clearly under pressure, manage cognitive load, and perform consistently without burnout. I deliver evidence-based workshops and presentations grounded in applied sport and performance psychology, neuroscience, and organizational performance research.

My programs are built around three core areas: improving cognitive skills such as focus, decision-making, and attention control; strengthening sustainable self-care practices that support performance rather than compete with it; and building confidence through clarity, preparation, and self-regulation rather than motivation alone. Each workshop is tailored to the specific needs of the organization, developed in close collaboration with leadership to ensure alignment with company culture, performance demands, and existing initiatives.

  • Athletics

I bring over 15 years of experience working in college athletics as a coach, administrator, and Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC). My work focuses on helping student-athletes and athletic organizations perform consistently in high-pressure, high-academic environments by developing practical, evidence-based mental performance skills that translate beyond sport. I deliver workshops and presentations centered on clarity under pressure, decision-making, focus, self-regulation, and sustainable performance, rather than short-term motivation or crisis intervention.

I have designed and launched comprehensive mental performance programs embedded within athletic departments, including a six-year embedded role with University of Vermont Men’s Basketball and the first in-house mental performance program at Johns Hopkins University. I currently serve as a mental performance consultant with New York University Athletics and George Washington University Men’s Basketball, supporting programs where academic excellence and competitive performance must coexist. My approach integrates research from sport and performance psychology, neuroscience, and organizational science into structured systems athletes and staff can use independently — supporting improved consistency and long-term performance in demanding environments.
